Terms of Use
Version 1 — effective 10 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and The Angel Squad Project ("Angel Squad", "we", "us") for use of
this platform. /join asks you to accept them, and accepting is recorded against the version number above. If
we publish a new version you will be asked again, and you can keep using the service under the version you
accepted until you answer.
1. Who may use Angel Squad
You must be at least 18 and be — or be training to be — a healthcare professional, or work with the people who
are. You give us a real name and a working email address, you keep them current, and you do not let anybody
else use your account. Your sign-in link is a credential: anyone holding it can act as you until it is used.
2. What you may not post
Do not post patient information. No names, no medical record numbers, no dates of birth, no photographs, no
case details that could identify a person — not in a post, not in a comment, not in a chat message, not in a
document, not in a file you attach. This is the single rule we will act on fastest. If you need to discuss a
case, de-identify it first; if you cannot de-identify it, it does not belong here.
Also out:
- anything unlawful, or that infringes somebody else's copyright, trademark or confidence;
- harassment, threats, hate, or targeting an individual;
- your employer's confidential material — policies, contracts, incident reports — unless you are entitled to
share it and it contains no patient information; - credentials, access tokens, or anything else that would let a stranger into a system;
- malware, scraping, automated bulk collection, or attempts to reach data that is not yours;
- commercial spam. Job postings are welcome on the job board, which is what it is for.
We may remove content, restrict an account, or close one, and we tell you what happened and why unless the law
stops us. You can appeal.
3. Your content stays yours
You keep ownership of everything you post. You give us the licence we need to store it, display it to the
people you chose to share it with, back it up, and show it to a moderator when it is reported. That licence
ends when you delete the content, except for backups already taken and copies we must keep under a legal hold.
4. Facilities and organisations
An organisation on Angel Squad is administered by its own people. If you join one, its administrators can see
your membership, your role, and what you post inside it — including chat in its channels and documents in its
libraries. They cannot read your direct messages with people outside it, and they cannot read your personal
calendar. Leaving an organisation ends that visibility going forward, not retrospectively.
If you post on behalf of an employer, that is between you and your employer. We do not verify that anybody
speaks for the organisation whose name is on their profile beyond the verification steps described on the
organisation's own page.
5. Nothing here is clinical or legal advice
Angel Squad is a professional network. Everything on it — posts, articles, courses, comments, answers — is the
opinion of the person who wrote it. It is not clinical advice, it is not legal advice, and it is not a
substitute for your facility's policies or your own professional judgement. Check anything you intend to act
on.
6. Security, and what we do not promise
We describe how the service is protected in the privacy notice and in our security documentation: traffic is
encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3, and DTLS-SRTP for calls) and content is encrypted at rest (AES-256); every
account can hold a second factor; administrative actions are recorded in an append-only audit log; the service
runs on infrastructure we control rather than shared multi-tenant application hosting.
We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not promise that data you post
will never be lost. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Where the law lets us limit our
liability, we limit it to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, while the
service is free, is nothing.
7. Health information and business associate agreements
Angel Squad is built to the HIPAA Security Rule's technical standards and can sign a business associate
agreement with a covered entity that asks for one. That does not make posting patient information acceptable:
section 2 stands regardless, and an agreement covers the narrow case where a facility needs one in place for
its own compliance programme, not a licence to use this platform as a clinical system.
8. Ending it
You can close your account at any time from your settings. There is a short grace period in which you can
change your mind, after which your content is deleted or anonymised as described in the privacy notice. We can
close an account that breaks these terms; if we do it without cause we will give you notice and let you export
your data first.
9. Changes, law, and getting in touch
We may change these terms. A change that matters gets a new version number and you will be asked to accept it.
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Texas, United States, and the courts there are where a
dispute is heard.
Questions about these terms go through the contact form on the help page.
