Why it exists
Infection prevention is a small profession doing an enormous job, and most of it is done alone — one IP for a facility, sometimes one for several. The people who could answer your question in ten minutes are working in a building you have never been to. Angel Squad is the place they are all in.
It started as a community and grew the things a community needs: somewhere to post and be answered, organisations for the facilities people actually work in, a job board for a profession that is always hiring, an education library, real-time chat and calls, and the scheduling that keeps a small team covered.
Who it is for
- Infection preventionists, first and always.
- Long-term care facilities, private care and clinics, and hospital systems.
- The nurses, educators, administrators and quality teams who work alongside them.
- Facilities looking for the people above, and the people above looking for a better post.
How your data is handled
Traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3, and DTLS-SRTP for calls) and content is encrypted at rest (AES-256). Every account can hold a second factor and administrative accounts must. Administrative actions are written to an append-only audit log, so we can always tell you who did what to your account. Video and voice run on media servers we operate ourselves rather than a third-party conferencing service. Each deployment is single-tenant: your data is not co-mingled with another customer's.
We are built to the HIPAA Security Rule's technical standards. Where we stand on business associate agreements, and everything else a security review asks, is on our trust page. None of that makes it acceptable to post patient information here, and the terms prohibit it.
What we deliberately do not do
- We do not offer a scheme where only the participants hold the keys. The server has to be able to read content to honour a legal hold, moderate a report, produce an export and keep an audit trail — which are the controls healthcare organisations require of us. A product that could not do those things would be worse for you, not better, and claiming otherwise while holding the plaintext would be a lie.
- No advertising, and no selling your data. There are no third-party advertising or analytics scripts on this site.
- No clinical system. Angel Squad is a professional network. Nothing on it is clinical advice and none of it belongs in a patient record.
